As NAACP President and Trenton School Board member, I’m proud to host another “Know Your Rights” session about ICE and other important immigrant rights issues here in Trenton.
My legal work centers on protecting civil rights, navigating complex enforcement systems, and ensuring that the law is used to safeguard families rather than destabilize them. In my role on the School Board, I have helped advance clear policies that limit unnecessary law enforcement interference in our schools so that children can learn in safe, supportive environments free from fear.
Please join us virtually on Monday, January 12 at 6pm to learn important information on how to protect yourself from ICE, what your rights are, what the school system is doing to protect our children and families from ICE and other unnecessary and disruptive law enforcement interference to help promote a safe learning environment for our children. Thank you to the New Jersey Consortium for Immigrant Children and Capital City High School for coordinating this needed talk.
Sadly, these talks and information sessions are still needed more now than ever, but until the law fully protects all families with dignity and fairness, we will continue to educate, organize, and defend our community using every legal tool available.
