The Mercer County Division of Mental Health recently hosted a Psychological First Aid training as part of our work to recruit and train new members for our Disaster Response Crisis Counselors team. These volunteer counselors assist individuals and communities in recovering from the effects of natural and human-caused disasters by providing community-based outreach and psycho-educational services.
On August 11, the Division will host a second training focused on Cultural and Ethical Issues in Disaster Response. These trainings are offered in collaboration with the NJ State Disaster and Terrorism Branch and funded by the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act.
