Since June of 2024, Trenton Walks! has completed 63 walks, with a total of 733 participants covering 1,671 person-miles. That’s the distance from Trenton to Key West, FL, plus Trenton to Boston, MA.
March’s 1.2-mile walk offers an environmental focus on the Assunpink Creek as it winds through East Trenton before joining the Delaware River. Walkers should meet at Artworks, at 19 Everett Alley, off South Stockton Street. The route will follow the Assunpink through Mill Hill Park to Clay Street Park and back.
Watershed Institute scientists will talk about how healthy the waterway is and how they are working with community members in 11 communities, including Lawrence and West Windsor, to develop and implement a plan to improve water quality and reduce flooding. This walk will also serve as a chance for working group partners, students, and community members to connect around shared goals for cleaner, more resilient waterways.
